Burned The Bridges

We burned the bridges

And boats,

Left them in smoldering cinders

Upon the shore.

We can not return

To the time,

The place

The home we knew.

The river of time

That we crossed,

Flows on,

Unstoppable,

Raging.

We can not

Swim upstream,

Backwards in time.

We chose not to

Swim against progress.

Now we’ve come to a place,

Without spirit,

A Place unnatural, and new,

With no rules.

Can we survive?

Can we find harmony?

Or will we lose ourselves

In the machine.

Will we remember love.

untitled #2

So it is P.A.D. (poem-a-day) time again, and until this becomes my job, my job is my job, so I will post as much as I can. Let’s start with this entry, and we will proceed from there. Hope you enjoy.

I am still here,

For now!

For a moment,

A twinkle in the eye,

Of the Universe.

An atom, among

Uncountable atoms.

There is more

Than this shell,

This slow-moving

organic miracle.

There must be breath

and consciousness,

There must be more.

There must be light

and nirvana,

A place beyond,

This place,

A dimension

Of grace and awareness.

There must be a place

For my head..

In the universal clouds.

Thought upon thought,

Drawing us closer.

A plane

Where we are we,

And not what we see.

The Holiday Season is Here

I know the holiday season is here, not because of christmas sale commercials, or the ridiculously early arrival of decorations, I know the holidays are coming because Sierra Nevada’s Celebration ale is on store shelves.

This wonderful beer by the “Sierra Nevada” brewing company, is perhaps my favorite beer. It is unfortunately only available during the holiday season, so it’s a long wait, but when I see it in the store my holidays begin. It is a hoppy beer, that to me, tastes like the smells of the holidays. I swear it tastes like the combination of holiday smells like your christmas tree or poinsettia plants. It is rich and hearty, and that taste is like christmas in a bottle. You get a smooth drink with a delightful after-taste, hearty and robust, with excellent flavors. This is just a humble man’s beer review, but I enjoyed writing it, so maybe I’ll review other beers, we’ll see. I hope your signs and symbols of a happy holiday season are here for you as well, and if you try this beer I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

A Fall Tree

He sees

the reds, the golds, the greens

and myriad oranges

in between.

The cold skin tightens,

frosty air awakens his mind,

as he views

the trees of fall.

He exhales and thanks

those above, in a crisp breath,

For a chance to see

The beauty of a

Fall tree.

Little Feet

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

The rain, on the window falls.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

The clock chime echoes through the halls.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

The sound of little feet.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

Here comes the kitty fresh from sleep.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

Claws scratch the wood in the hall.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

The little mouse will fall.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

Click the little feet.

Pitter-Patter, Pitter-Patter,

Back to sleep
