Hey everybody, sorry I’ve been swamped this week, between a family birthday, work and BBQ’s it’s been a full week. I hope you are all having a fun weekend. I hope your food is good and the drinks are cold! To all those who serve and sacrifice for this great country I want to say thank you.

I’ve got a short story I will be posting sections of soon. I hope you will all read along. Look for it and I’ll see you soon. Happy Memorial Day to all!!

The New World

Wake up!

It’s not a

Brave new World,

stale and stuck

with fancy new toys,

bend your will

to the messages

of loss,

loss of touch

loss of feeling

loss of contact.

Sit in your space,

with your translucent

multitude of friends

Sending thoughts

on a spark.

No voice responds

except you interpretation.

Do you sense the loss

of emphasis and emotion?

I hope it’s not

too late for the young ones!

Did we teach them well?

Sunny Morning

Sunlight is shining

over every nook

of my Earth.

A glorious

brilliant warmth

hits my cheek.

All this world,

Like a giant

golden halo

showing the stars

our innocence.

I feel

I was just created

This day

this time

for this moment.

Maybe words

will never cover

what miraculous life

is uncovered

on A sunny morning!

Triglycerides and Me

Hard living is catching up to me! Years of fun and frolic, living like a Hobbit, and not caring have caught me on my doorstep. I decided to go get my first checkup in about twenty years. I mean when you are immortal who needs blood tests and Doctors! Well needless to say my cholesterol is a little high. The real problem though is my Triglycerides. My results sheet had a chart on it for low, moderate,  and severe risk. The number for severe risk was 500. My number was 546!  I  told my wife “Hey, when I do something I like to do my best!” I also said “Wow that’s the highest grade I ever got on a test.” I guess my years of sucking the marrow from life were well done, now I have to be an adult and eat right. Boo! Well, it’s not the end of the world, I mean there is medicine and it’s fixable, so no sweat, but boy I’m gonna miss my Carbs. and fried anything. Ice cream and alcohol, my dear friends, we must keep our relationship to a minimum, if we want to spend any time together. We do, oh yes we do! I guess living well now means salads, and fat-free everything. Does this mean I have to drink those low Carb. beers also? It seems it’s time to channel my inner rabbit or bird when it comes time to eating, lots of fruits and greens. I just want to say live it up, but watch how you do it, read labels, and cut the fat and sugars. Wow as I type this, it sounds so depressing, but I guess being dead might be more so! I don’t worry though (the immortal me returning) I will be writing and living for a looooong time, so keep reading.

Poems to tell A Story

I have recently decided I want to write several Poems, and I want those poems to all tell a bigger story. I have not found a name for this idea, although I am sure this is not a new idea. I have posted a poem from this planned story recently, “The Mushroom King” If you’ve had a chance to read it I’d like some feedback. If you know a name for this conglomeration of poems that tell a story, I would appreciate an enlightening comment. As always and with everything I would like comments from my readers, as they help my hone any skill I might have, and other writers are in short supply in my world. I have to go to family and friends, and they “Love” everything. Although it’s appreciated I need more in-depth feedback. I’m trying to find reading groups and open mikes in my area, but I would also like some comments from you. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy.
